Support LMBBS

Our registered charity number is 1027384

All our support activities provide a vital lifeline to LMBBS families, several of whom have more than one affected child.

The words of one of our Scottish members who described the discovery of our pamphlet, The LMBBS Child at School, 'Like Striking Gold' when receiving her daughter's distressing diagnosis, help to illustrate the value of our work.

A mother of a 29 year old son with LMBBS said it felt like 'Winning The Lottery' when she received Introducing LMBBS, never before having seen the condition so clearly explained.

The Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl Society is a dynamic forum of people with LMBBS, their families, carers and professionals involved in the care and management of those with LMBBS. All members of the Committee are volunteers.

Fundraising

Any donations or sponsorship should be sent to our voluntary fund raising co-ordinator, Ann Crotty. Further details on the contact page.

Tweaking The Nose Of Terror ! - 4 Mountains in Wales...

Gouged over centuries by glaciers, the mountainous range of Snowdonia in North West Wales offers up sharp, rocky edges that zoom up from wide valleys to create a beautiful spiky mountain range. Amongst these ancient volcanic
peaks are numerous peaks that pierce the magic 3000ft height mark.

Always up for a challenge, the UK Acquiring Larger Business, New Business team, will, over 2 long, arduous, days on 24th rd and 25th April, attempt to summit 4 of these famous mountains ALL of which are over the magic 3000ft
mark, 3 of which are the 3 highest mountains in Wales and one of which is the highest mountain in England and Wales. The team are guiding and navigating themselves around the route.

Not only does the actual route around the 4 summits itself require the team to drag themselves up over many, many miles of rock, loose scree, bog and boulders, but if you stood those 4 mountains on top of one another it would
be a staggering 13'683 of ascent !!!

The 4 Mountains
Snowdon Range
Carneddau Range
Pen Yr Ole Wen 3208ft
Carnedd Dafydd 3425ft
Snowdon 3560ft
Carnedd Llewelyn 3490ft

We have set up our JustGiving page, which is now live .

We fully appreciate that we all are asked to dig deep for other great efforts from our colleagues and would like to thank you in advance for your continued support for this very real challenge. We want to raise funds to support our nominated charity the LAURENCE-MOON-BARDET-BIEDL SOCIETY. We have chosen this charity as our colleague Suzanne Hardy-Smith lost her brother to this rare illness 3 years ago.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT, WISH US LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!

Paddock Wood half marathon - Sunday 1 April 2007

On Sunday 1 April 2007 Martin Cleary ran the Paddock Wood half marathon to raise funds for LMBBS. He finished the race in 2 hours and 37 minutes, brilliant considering this is the first time Martin has ever ran a marathon.

His son Joe Cleary also ran the fun run, which took place before the half marathon.

Between them they raised around £800.

Well done, and many thanks to them both!!!
