A parent of a visually impaired child and has set up a yahoo private members email support group for parents in the UK. With over 30 members now, parents of visually impaired children and blind adults wishing to support parents. It is friendly and lively and very informative and most parents feel it is the best support network they have because they feel empowered and can talk to people 24hrs a day through emails and someone always replies. It is a real community. They are happy to welcome new members and are trying to let organisations know, so they can pass on the details to parents.

E-access Bulletin is a free, independent monthly e-mail newsletter on information technology issues for people with visual impairment and blindness. The Bulletin covers everything from consumer electronics to the internet, examining design and access issues and technical developments. E-access Bulletin is produced by Headstar, with support from the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) and the National Library for the Blind
The Genetic Interest Group(GIG) is a national alliance of organisations with a membership of over 120 charities which support children, families and individuals affected by genetic disorders. Its primary goal is to promote awareness and understanding of genetic disorders so that high quality services for people affected by genetic conditions are developed and made available to all who need them. It also hosts a guest book or forum so genetic questions can be asked and answered.
