Helen May Simera - Iron man challenge

Helen has decided to attempt an Iron Man to raise money for the Laurence Moon Bardet Biedl Syndrome patient society. She wanted to do something different, something big and something crazy, so that lots of people will sponsor her and she can raise lots of cash for the society. An Iron man is no ordinary triathlon. It starts with a 2.4 mile swim, then a 112 mile bike ride and then a full marathon (26.2 miles) at the end. Its going to be tough, but knowing that she will be raising lots of money for the society will keep her going.

She has lots of training ahead of her. Last weekend she did a half Iron man on Saturday and then a short triathlon on Sunday. The half Iron man took her 7 hours and 16 seconds, but she is unsure if she will be able to keep up that pace for double the distance. The summer is going to involve lots of training and hard work but she is determined to do it. The cut off time for the full iron man is 17 hours, so fingers crossed she can make it in time.

Helen would really want to thank all the people in the society who are giving her so much encouragement.
"You guys really keep me going. I have my training bear that you guys gave me and I have named him Bud. He keeps me going. Below are some pictures from my training weekend."
